Anatomy of Eye

There are many parts in our eyes, today we read about some of the imported parts.

1. CORNEA – The cornea is a transparent structure of the eyeball. Infect, this is the most transparent structure of the body. The cornea helps in the refraction of the eyeball.

2. CONGJUNTIVA – Conjunctiva is a mucous membrane that covers the anterior part of the eyeball and the inner surface of the lids.

3. SCLERA – Sclera is an opaque layer and forms the posterior 5/6th of the eyeball. Its main function is protection. It protects the inner part of the eyeball.

4. LIMBUS – The junction of the sclera and cornea is called limbus.

5. IRISH – Irish is the most anterior part of the uvea. It is a thin, membrane-like structure.

6. PUPIL – The central opening of the iris is called the pupil.

7. CILIARY BODY – the ciliary body is the middle part between the iris and the choroid. Its main constituent is the ciliary body

8. CHOROID – Choroid is the posteriormost part of the uveal. It is situated between the sclera externally and the retina internally. Choroid is composed almost entirely of blood vessels

9. LENS – The lens is a biconvex transparent structure of the eye.
